un-BREAKABLE

Few months back, I was really excited when I found out that my most favorite band will be having a concert in the Philippines. The last time they visited our country was still 2006 and I never imagined I would be able to see them in flesh again. But dreams do come true right? I even told myself that I MUST get a seat infront and I will have the best time of my life. Indeed, it was the best time of my life. One of the best, if not the best, concerts I’ve been to. The guys were awesome. The crowd were amazing. Just perfect. Nothing could go wrong.

Just few days after their Asian Tour, I was so shocked to hear about the split up. It was all too sudden for me, for the fans. No one saw it coming. After a very successful Asian tour. I just thought the band is getting stronger. The decision was too quick. I don’t know how long did the lads spend time deciding, but I felt like they’ve been planning on this even before their Asian tour started. But what else can we do, they’ve spent their 14yrs. entertaining their fans, pleasing everyone, and who knows what else. So I guess, it’s time for them to do their own thing that will make them happier and complete. Time for them to spend more time with their families and loved ones as well. Whatever happens, Westlife will remain in my heart. I would still be their number 1 fan. And though they already said there won’t be any reunion tour in the future, I would still keep the hope in my heart, hoping, just hoping, my dream would come true again.

Woah, can’t believe it was already two years since I last posted on this blog. I had fun reading my old posts. Reminds me of my younger years. Not that I’m a lot older now. Lol. Well, after two years, what has changed? Well, I’ve graduated that’s one. And hmmm about to get married? Lol. My life seemed to be the same as it was before. I guess I just learned to be more independent and more mature. As if I have a choice? Anyway, after a long time, I’ll try to keep this blog as active as I can once again. Sometimes it helps to have these kinds of tools online where you can express everything you feel.:)

I just bought David Cook’s new album two days ago and I can’t help to rave about it! Actually I bought Archie’s album as well, and both are freakin awesome! Let’s go with Cook’s album first. Totally very “cookish” in style. And Cook’s voice is definitely hot! So rugged and sexy. Twilight Mania

I’m a book lover. Everyone who knows me is surely aware of that.  It was funny how I came to know about Twilight series. My mom asked me if I knew an author named Tiffany. I said no I have not heard of her and I asked why. Mom said that she heard the books of Tiffany were all sold out in almost all bookstores here in Manila. And that was when my curiosity picked up. I was like, why I have not heard of this Tiffany? I started searching the net, googled her name but can’t seem to find the Tiffany that I was looking for. Worse was, I did not have any idea what her surname was. So I visited forums and try looking for this Tiffany again but still it gave me nothing. Then I noticed a thread named TWILIGHT. I got curious again because first I noticed that the pages of that thread was over 100, so I thought, this must be something good. I clicked it, read the first page and they were like crazy over the Twilight series. Of course I did not dare to read the entire thread, i immediately jumped to the last page, and I found out that there will also be an upcoming movie based on the first series of the sequel. After reading some reviews from the forumers I decided to buy the first book and try if it was really good. I visited Powerbooks the next day and I was really overwhelemed to see loads of Twilight series books! I know I said will get the Twilight book first, but I can’t help myself! I grabbed the first 3 books and bought it right away! I started reading the Twilight book that night and got hooked! As expected. Well, will share my points and opinions for each of the books on my next post. Don’t want to get carried away here. Haha.

P.S. I realized later that night as well that my mom got the name wrong, Tiffany and Stephenie. Not bad. Haha. Thanks to mom. =)

Estrels’ Caramel Cake (Yum!) “,

Since I got my weekly allowance for my OJT, I decided to treat my family a caramel cake from Estrels. I first heard about this on my Grandma’s birthday few years back. I was only able to eat 1/4 slice of that caramel cake last time, but I thought that it was very unique from the other cakes I tasted from Goldilocks and Red Ribbon. First I thought this caramel cake might be too sweet for me and my family, just the word caramel itself explains it all. To think that my family is diabetic. But still, I gave it a try. And it was good! I’m not really a cake fanatic, but still, I loved it. My family liked it as well. Though it was caramel flavored, it was not too sweet for our taste. Just perfect. And what I like about this cake was the caramel filling inside. Of course another plus factor was the design.=)  

The only con for me is, the place is not that accessible. At least for me. Of course what can you expect, Estrels is located in Tomas Morato while I live in Pasay. Haha. But still it was worth it. Give it a try and see for yourself! =)

 

A Tribute To My Favorite Author: Julie Garwood

When I was in my 3rd year highschool (I’m currently 4th yr. college) my boyfriend gave me a novel book as a gift for Valentine’s Day, Prince Charming by Julie Garwood. Uhmm honestly, I was a bit disappointed at first, I mean, hey it was Valentine’s Day and I am expecting maybe something bigger? Haha I’m not being demanding. Don’t get me wrong, but of course every girl wants to be treated special during those times. And getting only a pocketbook was the last thing I expected. But I guess, it was a worthy gift after all…

At first, I did not know what to do with that pocketbook. Firstly because, I do not read thick novel books. Yes I love to read, and my boyfriend knows that, maybe that’s why he chose to give me a book instead. But I never tried reading a thick novel book. And secondly, my first impression to novel books are boring. So I never tried to buy and just even read the summary of novel books. But then, I decided to start reading the summary of the book, at first, I was a bit having a hard time understanding the flow of the story. Of course what can you expect from a girl who got used reading Archie comics and sweet valley kids right? But then, after the first chapter, I can’t stop myself from continuing. Believe it or not, that moment on, I started to become a Julie Garwood fan.

After I finished reading Prince Charming, I scanned different bookstores in malls to look for some more books of Julie Garwood. The second book of Julie Garwood that I purchased was The Heartbreaker. And same with Prince Charming, I got hooked with it as well. It was very hard to find Julie’s old books in bookstores nowadays, but I always find time to check out her books if I happen to pass by a bookstore. That’s how addicted I am to her works. And luckily, last month, I was really overwhelemd when I saw many of Julie Garwood’s old novels in new prints, I did not think twice and bought it all right at that moment. After that, there were only few pieces left in the shelf. Oopss… Sorry for the other Julie Garwood fans, I just love her works so much to let that chance to hoard her books slip away! Right now, her books that I currently have are, Gentle Warrior, Rebellious Desire, Castles, The Gift, The Prize, The Lion’s Lady, Prince Charming, Saving Grace, The Heartbreaker, Slow Burn, Come the Spring, Killjoy, For the Roses, The Clayborne Brides, Honor’s Splendour, and Murder List. While the Guardian Angel, Shadow Dance, and Shadow Music,I was able to read through e-books. Actually I have all her books in e-book format, but still I prefer it reading in a paperback cover. I don’t care if I have to spend money. Every penny is worth it when it comes to the books of Julie Garwood.

What I love about Julie Garwood is the way her story makes me feel everytime I read her novels. You can see yourself being attached to the character. May it be a mystery novel or historical novel, as long as it’s Julie Garwood, I will surely love it. Definitely, I can say now that Julie Garwood is the best author when it comes to mystery and romantic novels.

At the end of the day I realized that my boyfriend did not only just give me a book. He gave me a lifetime treasure that I will surely share to my future daughters! My mom suggested once that I could sell my pocketbooks after reading, but I’m not going to do that. I take very good care of  my pocketbooks not because I’m thinking of selling them in the future, but a memory and a treasure that will go with me until I grow old.  So to my Prince Charming who introduced Garwood’s books to me, Thank you so much. It was the most romantic gift I have ever received. =)

 

At Lost. . .

For everyone, summer is the perfect time to burn under the sun, to take short term courses, to travel the world, etc. But for me, I would like to take this time to do something different that will help me to become a better person inside, something that will help me grow and find my purpose in life. I want to rebuild my relationship with God.

With so many tests and trials crossed my life in the past few years, I admit that my relationship with Him weakened at some point. I struggled a lot. I tried many times to bring back my relationship with Him, but also failed many times. I’m not saying that I had a perfect relationship with Him before, but that relationship we had was enough for me to never feel alone. I know I was never alone, no matter how many times I turned my back on Him, He will never do the same thing to me. But when you start to walk away from the light, when you start letting go of His hold in your heart, you can’t help but feel at lost. There was I time I felt so tired, restless, and exhausted. And unlike before, everything just turned out alright right after I surrender all my pains and worries to Him. How easy life can be when you give it all to Him? I know it will be harder this time to bring back what was used to be, but I know with His help and with His love, I can do just anything.

 

My First Ever Post =)

My first ever post in my first ever blog. I was planning to mae a blog long before but had no time to start one. Well I guess I need to introduce myself first so you will have an idea about me. I’m currently 19 years old, taking up Management. I love writing, but sadly, I never did anything to further enhance my writing skills. I know it is a blessing, every talent we have we must develop it, and hopefully, this blog can be a stepping stone for me to fully express everything I feel through typing. =)
